Product Description
(This module is included in the System B)
The S202 is based on a state variable topology. It has two filter modes, A 12db high pass and 12db low shelf. A low shelf is simply a high pass with the added feature to control the level of loss (or gain) below the cutoff frequency. The loss (or gain) can be controlled via the shelf knob/CV. The cutoff frequency can range from 0Hz to about 21khz. The resonance is designed to go very high up to but not reaching self resonation to avoid distortion to get a clean response. If selfresonation is needed, the S212 VCF can be used.
When the shelf knob is at 12 o’clock, The loss/gain will be 0db, increasing the shelf above that will amplify the harmonics below the cutoff, which means that the filter will sound like a low pass at this state. Modulating the shelf can morph between an HP and LP sound.
Because of the low shelf feature. This filter can be used for EQing, by stacking multiple modules in series or parallel or a combination of both.
