SA03

SA03 MIDI/Sync From DAW

Product Description

(This module is included in the System B)

The SA03 has two functions, bring MIDI messages from the DAW and provide syncing with the DAW transport controls via two CV outs and optionally via MIDI.

The MIDI output port simply brings in whatever MIDI messages the DAW throws at SoloRack.

When the divisor knob is at 24, the clock out becomes a pulse timed at the current DAW tempo and synced with each currently playing beat (The clock out only sends a pulse while the DAW is playing). When the divisor knob is at 1. The clock out plays at MIDI standard speed, which is 24 times the DAW beat tempo. The divisor values from left to right are 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 *

The Reset out provides three voltages to indicate the status of the DAW transports controls. When DAW is playing , Reset gives 0V (low voltage). If DAW has stopped and reset to the beginning, Reset gives 1V (high voltage). If DAW has paused, Reset gives 0.2V (mid level voltage)**.

The Sync On/Off switch toggles whether or not the MIDI port should send the DAW transport as syncing/clocking MIDI messages. Turning it off is useful if your DAW is receiving MIDI syncing/clocking from external hardware or software and you want to sync to that. Notice that this Sync switch will not affect the Clock and Reset CV outputs. On the other hand, the SD02 has the ability to translate MIDI input syncing/clocking to Clock and Reset CV outputs.

*There was an error in this description before stating that that the divisor values from left to right are 1,2,4,8,24. This is wrong!!

**Any voltage above 0.25V is considered high. Any voltage below 0.15V is considered low. And any voltage between 0.15V and 0.25V is mid level.
