S810

S810 4×4 Sequence Router

Product Description

(This module is included in the System B)

The S810 is a 4 In/out to 4 In/Out switch (Or router) module that can have multiple routing matrices (up to 100) that can be sequenced. Whats more is that the sequencing can be voltage controlled and can handle audio rate modulation and audio rate triggers!!. This rather unique set of features allow for interesting techniques like waveform cycling when connected to VCOs.

At the left you have 4 black In/Out patch points and at the right you have 4 Red In/Out patch points. In/Out means that they can act as either input or output (but not both at the same time). When a button is pressed in the routing matrix, the corresponding black patch point will be internally connected to the corresponding Red patch point (imagine an invisible cable between them). The Route digital display shows the current (active) route matrix number. The current Route can be changed manually, or with the Trig in for sequenced playing or with the CV/Knob. The Rst In (Reset In) provides transport control (Play/Pause/Stop) for the Route number, and is used the same way other sequencers in SoloRack is used*.

Finally there are Copy, Paste, Clear and Random buttons for the routing matrix which should be self explanatory once you try them.

Usage Idea: Try patching the In/Outs to multiple VCO outputs or multiple VCOs then patch the Trig In to an audio rate signal (can be one of the VCO outputs too). You will get interesting VCO waveform cycling. You can generate new waveforms this way.

*When Rst In is low (<=0.15V) the sequencer is playing (when it receives triggers). When Rst In is high (>=0.25V) the sequencer is stopped and reset to Route 0. When Rst In is mid level (between high and low), the sequence is paused.
