SE10

SE10 Dual Volt Meter

Product Description

(This module is included in the System B)

The SE10 is a dual voltage meter that is capable of measuring both DC and AC* signal voltages. A DC/AC switch is provided for each of the two sections.

In DC mode, the meter measures the average of the CV voltage it receives. In AC mode, the meter measures half the peak-to-peak value. Which is half the deference between the highest voltage and the lowest voltage it receives. DC mode is good for measuring constant or very low frequency CV. While AC mode is good for audio or high frequency CV.

In AC mode, if the input signal has a DC offset, that offset voltage will be detected and sent to the DC Out patch point. Which you can then take and measure in DC mode using the second volt meter!. This is also useful for DC cancelling, you can invert the DC out using an inverter and then mix it with the original audio to cancel that offset**.

The Display Speed knob sets how fast or slow the measuring and updating of the meter displays happen. Faster speeds are more responsive and live but can be less accurate. This accuracy also depends on the input signal frequency. Low frequency input may need lower speed.

Setting the Display Speed to higher values will consume more CPU. This CPU usage increase is not audio related but is graphics related. It will not show up in your DAWs CPU meter!!. The task manager of your OS will show it. If you have a large patch with many SE10 meters and MANY CABLES. The CPU hit might increase that the GUI becomes a bit sluggish. If this happens, there is a quick remedy for that which is to use the CPU Lite Cables option in the main menu. This should solve the problem at once.

*DC (Direct current). AC (Alternating Current).

**If you simply want to measure the DC offset of a fast/audio signal. Just put the meter in DC mode and set the speed knob to a low value
